DETAILS AND GETTING READY

I like to start like a fly on the wall… but totally less annoying. In this moment of the day, there are many opportunities for documentary style work. I typically start with your special details, the gown, shoes, your invitation, a locket that belonged to grandma and anything else that is special to you. Once it’s time for you to put on your gown (or suit), things will start to feel “real” and you may feel a little emotional. Do be afraid to shed a tear in front of the camera.

PRE-CEREMONY FORMALS AND/OR FIRST LOOK

I’ll always be respectful of your and your guests’ time. Because we’ve already held a timeline meeting, I will go into the day understanding your hopes for the flow of the day. Ideally we can fit some formal photos in before the ceremony to cut back on time taken before the start of the reception. If you would like to do a 1st look, you will have the option of completing most if not all of your formal photos before the ceremony. If you want to stick with tradition, no problem...we have lots of photos to take that don’t include the both of you.

CEREMONY

My 2nd shooter and I will check with your officiant on requests and rules we should follow before the start of the ceremony. If there are none, we will use our experience to show respect for this special moment. We have a typical routine and technique for the ceremony that allows us to capture the moment without distracting you or your guest.

POST-CEREMONY FORMALS

Family formals can sometimes seem stressful on a couple who is just ready to enjoy each other and celebrate. You and I will have an opportunity to discuss these photos before the big day so you won’t have to worry about surprises. I typically shoot family formals using a studio style light set-up. This is a quick set-up and your family will love the formal look. You can expect 20 -30 minutes on family depending on your requests.

RECEPTION AND GOODBYE

Time to Party! At this part of the day, we won’t require a lot of interaction. I’ll work with your DJ to be ready for all of the important moments. Action and dancing shots are some of my favorite!

Before we head out for the night, I’ll check in with you on any final requests. We’ll say our farewells and I’ll get to editing your images right away!
